Strawberry Margaritas- 155 calories

Can you imagine a life without margaritas? I can’t so I came up with a low cal version you can make year around and not feel guilty about. By using some balsamic vinegar it makes the strawberries taste sweeter without having to add so much sugar, a trick I learned from the great Nigella Lawson. Don’t worry, you won’t be able to taste it just strawberry goodness… hiccup ;)

Makes 4 Margaritas-

1 ½ cup Crushed Ice
1 cup Frozen Strawberries
1 cup Tequila
1 tbsp Triple Sec
Juice of 1 Lime
1 tsp Balsamic Vinegar
1 tsp Powdered Sugar
½ cup Club Soda

Add all ingredients to a blender. Pulse adding club soda to help it along until it is smooth and ready to drink. Pour into 4 glasses garnish with a strawberry and serve with girlfriends and gossip.

Each Margarita has:
Calories: 155
Fat: 0
Fiber: 1
Protein: 1
Carbs: 6

  2. This is not accurate! Just looked up tequila on my tracker and 1 cup of tequila is 21 points! That plus the other things divided by 4 glasses does NOT make 1 point plus per glass!

    • If you do the math using CalorieKing and my Calorie counter you will see this recipe and it’s nutritional value is right on mark.

Don’t always trust trackers, good old fashioned math is the only accurate way to know what you are really putting in your body.

  3. You shouldn’t make a recipe and say it is only 1 weight watchers point if you don’t reference the weight watchers tracker. If you want to add you own nutrition info up that is fine but you shouldn’t reference weight watchers these are not 1 point each and no matter how you add it up WW counts 1 cup of tequila as 21 pts (1.5 oz = 4 pts) since they wrote the plan no matter what the label says I trust them. Alcohol doesn’t add up quite by the label because its mostly sugar and carbs WW places a higher points value on “empty” foods and beverages. In saying that your drink looks delicious but your points plus value is incorrect

    • NO WHERE ON THIS POST ARE WW POINTS, I’m not sure where you are getting that info but it’s not anywhere on here and I’m not sure why you would post such a comment.

      • These are pinned on Pinterest and the pinner claims that they are 1 point, which clearly is not the case. It is their error — not yours.

  4. Someone pinned it to pinterest saying it was only 1 point, and the pin is getting popular. That’s where people are getting that number, just so you know…

  5. Audrey, just to let you know somebody else reposted this on Pintrest with the caption of it only be 1 Point Plus so that is where people are getting your thinking. Sorry somebody is leading others to think you are posting incorrect information. :(

  6. To clear up the confusion this was pinned on Pinterest… the last pinner wrote the drink is one WW point. They were clearly mistaken. Either way looks delicious!

  7. The author of the recipe never said it was 1 points plus, someone who pinned it on Pinterest added incorrect info to the description of the pin! I assume the person plugged in the nutrition info above without adding the points for alcohol, but either way, not the author’s fault. No wonder she was all caps wondering what everyone was talking about, lol

  8. Whoever posted this link on pinterest wrote that it was one WW Point. That is where people are getting that information. People who are angry about the points: get over it! If you want to calculate that information go for it! But be responsible for your own weight loss. Don’t rely on what other sites and sources say. Do the calculations yourself!

  9. The recipe is floating around Pinterest and the comment that has been passed along with it references WW. Pinterest users can post any comment they want…dont believe everything you read on the internet.

  10. The reason everyone is saying it is 1 point on WW is because your nutritional value for each margarita (carbs, protein, fiber, fat) equals 1pt in weight watchers… so I think the reason people are believing the pin, is because although you never stated weight watchers points, your nutritional value is determining that it is one point.

  13. I don’t give a hoot how many points this is on some number system fabricated to substitute will-power, moderation, and self-control. This looks damn good! Thanks for the recipe.
