Day Spa Mango Ginger Water

This recipe has helped 1000′s of people lose weight! Check out the PROOF and find out how Lose Weight By Eating lose over 1000 pounds per month here.

Makes 4 liters, refill 4 liter pitcher 2-4 times until flavor is lost.

INGREDIENTS:

1 inch Ginger Root, peeled and sliced

1 cup Frozen Mango- fresh is fine too

DIRECTIONS:

-To peel the ginger use the back of a spoon or a vegetable peeler, just peel the part that you will be using. Using a sharp knife slice ginger into 3-4 coin sized slices. You want them about the size and thickness of the coin.

-Drop into your pitcher and add in the mango.

-Top with 3 cups of ice and then add with water.(the ice is important, it holds down the ginger and mango to help infuse the water)

-Place in your fridge for 1-3 hours before serving.

-When serving add a couple frozen mango chunks in a pretty glass for ice cubes.

This will keep in the fridge for 24 hours.

I hope you enjoy this metabolism boosting drink, you may also like my Apple Cinnamon Water or my Mango Basil Water drinks. Here are more metabolism boosting meals, the new way to lose weight: make your food work for you!

You can use fresh or frozen mango, I like frozen because I don’t have to cut and it is always picked at the peak of the season and frozen so if I can’t get mangos in season I can still always have some in the house. Plus they are like little ice cubes here, fun! I highly recommend you use fresh ginger, the powdered just does not taste the same and will clump in your water. Check your farmer’s market or the produce section of your grocery store for ginger, you can store in freezer to make it last longer.

    • Lemon also boosts metabolism, although not as much as mango :)

It is so fun the stuff you learn researching recipes! Anything you want to make your body do there is a food to do it!

      HAPPY COOKING!

      • I didn’t know that about mango’s.. Your right you learn alot by just researching. Never too old to learn something new..

      • I love the internet, just type a question into Google or Yahoo and you will find your answer :) Somehow I am one of those people who never tires of learning about food and how it can help your body. Like for instance did you know Basil is an inflammatory? When I am hurting I make a lunch w/ loads of basil, and real licorice helps with menstrual cramps. If you have something that ails you do a search of what food helps with it, it is very interesting!

        HAPPY RESEARCHING :)

      • I was drinking tons of lemon water … and lemon&lime water to loose weight, and it did help! BUT the downside was because lemon is so acidic on my next visit to the dentist I had NINE cavities! My dentist told me it was probably because of the lemon water, and that if you do have a lot of lemon; or lemon water – be sure to wash it out with plain water after lol.. it’s bad for your teeth!

      • probably a dumb question but if i dont have ice will the drink still work out the same???
And for the cin and apple drink im making 2 liters, should i use a full or half of a cin stick

  1. I’m seriously thinking about making this. I don’t really like mangoes that much, but it sounds good, and it’s a plus that it’s metabolism booster! Lol. Something good for those of us that are too lazy to get out there and work out every day. I just made a new blog, and I put a link for your blog in my site. (: I hope that’s okay!

  2. Thanks for this recipe i’m going to try it today. I make ginger, cucumber and lemon water and drink it all day because it’s refreshing and because of the healing properties. I don’t know if it helps metabolism but I started drinking this because I hate drinking plain water.

    • Ginger is a BIG metabolism booster and Lemon does too but not as much as Grapefruit, maybe try out a ruby red grapefruit instead of the lemon if you find them on sale.

Anyway you can get water in your body I say go for it, well unless you are adding powders and chemicals like Proper, Mios and Crystal Light. Add in any fruit and herb you like, get creative and you will get excited about drinking and creating new waters :)

      HAPPY COOKING!

    • You are gonna like it but it is not as strong in flavor as the Mango Ginger because the fruit and cinnamon are not as strong. It is a light hint of apple pie and it is heaven. I hope you love it as much as I do.

You are inspiring me to create a new water. I have a beautiful pear calling my name :)

      HAPPY COOKING!

  4. I did love the apple cinnamon water just as much as the others and my extremely picky 19 year old actually loved this and asked me to fix two big bottles so that he can take to work with him. I can’t wait to hear how the pear water turns out. Thanks.

    • I just started the pear water. Going to put it up on the facebook page now for everyone to help me be taste testers this morning. Hope you can participate :)

The Watermelon and Rosemary is TO DIE FOR and is great in a water bottle. It gets better and better all day :)

  5. Quick question. I don’t want to lose weight because I’m pregnant so is this safe to drink during pregnancy? Will speeding up my metabolism have any negative effects? I love the idea of ginger for morning (all day) sickness and I love the taste of mango. I’m having a hard time drink the recommended amount of water because it isn’t tasty and only makes me feel bloated and more uncomfortable. This sounds like something I would love to drink and that may make me feel better. Thanks in advance for any information!

    • Hi Rebecca,

I have a three year old, I don’t remember the list of no no foods but I am sure that ginger was not one and I don’t believe mango was either. I would think it would be fine, call your doc if you want to ask but this will not speed it up so fast like a pill would. This will make your body work harder to process and digest it, if anything I would think it would be good for you, I remember having a lot of digestion problems.

Ginger I know for a fact will help you feel better, it eases sick tummies. Here is another one you may like that helps with tummy troubles:

Everything on this site is 100% all natural and I would and have feed to my 3 year old daughter.

I hope you have a comfortable pregnancy!

      HAPPY COOKING
      - I say this to everyone, but for you pun intended ;)

    • Hi Sue,
I think everyone’s body can experience herbs differently. I have something similar to fibromyalgia in that it is a nerve disease. Basil helps my pain, it sure can’t hurt to try it. If you’re not crazy about this recipe here are more recipes of mine with basil in them. You can go nuts with Basil, it is a zero calorie food so dig in!

  6. I made your water last night and am drinking it today. It is very delicious!! I have been drinking plain water everyday for a while now to help boost my weight loss so i figured it wouldn’t hurt to try this and make my water work better. I am looking forward to this!!

  7. I made your water last night and am drinking it today. It is delicious!! I have been drinking a lot of plain water everyday to help boost my weight loss so I figured adding ginger and mango wouldn’t hurt to make my water work for me. Looking forward to see if this works for me!

  8. I am a Diabetic and have become dehydrated, so Dr. Says water, water, water. I don’t Care for plain water so I am trying some flavored ones. I like lemon and am going to try the mango&ginger one. Wish me luck with all the water. I will be floating. The watermelon sounds good too.

  9. I am on a low carb high protien diet, I am wondering if this is ok to drink on that kind of a diet? What would the carb count be on in this ginger mango drink?

    • Hi Carol,

I would have to guess, because you don’t eat the fruit probably between 1 and 5 carbs. But before I just leave it at that I first have to ask, why would you do that to yourself? Grains are found in nature and for millions of years humans have been eating them. They are essential to your life, like if all of a sudden you stopped feeding your dog his dog food and then have him only cheese.

If your doctor put you on this plan or if you truly do not like carbs I say go for it, otherwise I highly recommend you read this post about Making YOUR OWN Diet for your own needs.

      http://tonetiki.com/2012/03/12/create-a-diet-that-will-work-for-you-heres-how/

I hope I have not offended you but I tell it like it is and I just can’t stand seeing people torture themselves. I lost 150 lbs in a year and I ate tons of pasta, bread and baked foods!

I hope to hear from you again,
      Audrey

  10. I use fresh lemon, dash of red pepper, warm water to detox the liver. A huge fan of ginger! I will put fresh ginger in smoothies, tea and food! I must try the mango, sounds delious!!

  11. I kept reading down and saw that you drink a gallon a day!?!?! if i dont drink that much is the drink not going to work? i just made it earlier. it is “chilling” in my fridge so i can start drinking it tomorrow :)

  12. How do the calories from the mango not transfer to the water? Or what about the sugar? Is it the same way with your other waters? It’s very good! It’s hard to believe that it’s not sweetened by the mangos at least!

  13. Has this actually worked for anyone one here? I am trying to hard to loose my baby weight (I gained 70 pounds while pregnant and need to still loose around 40 pounds). Nothing seems to be working for me! I also get discouraging when I don’t see immediate results which is bad, I know! Please help!!

    • I really recommend fresh, it’s only $1 for a small root at the store.

If you want to get started right away just try to drink a gallon of water a day, the Ginger and Mango does help boost metabolism but so does water. The reason for the drink is to get you to drink more water overall.

  16. Thanks for such a great tip!!! Just made this and put it in the fridge to cool, I only had a 2 litre pitcher. Once I finish that should I just refill with water? Or re add new mango and ginger?
Also wanted more info on your diet plan
    Your a great motivator!!!!!!

    • My diet is on the website it’s self. Here are my 4 tips:
      1. Drink a gallon of water a day.
      2. Remove all processed foods and fake sugars from your diet.

You refill the water when 1/2 of it is gone in the pitcher.

    • I recommend a gallon a day of water if you are looking to lose weight. The idea behind this drink is to help you drink more of it. Both ginger and mango boost metabolism but the BIG booster is the water.

  17. I made the mango/ginger water last night. Just drank a glass. I can taste the mango but not the ginger, should I be able to taste the ginger? I added 4 quarter sized slices to 4 liters of water. BTW I love the apple/cinnamon water!

    • The ginger is super strong usually, you might need to get some fresh ginger. It is fragrant when you slice into it?
I’m working in a new metabolism boosting drink today, keep an eye out for it.

  20. hello i have a question i have my fiances army graduation to go to in 18 days? do you think this would really help me drop weight fast to look amazing for him?

    • Hi Kristen,
I always ask people to make reasonable goals, so reasonably I think in 18 days you can lose 7 lbs. That is an average of 3 lbs a week. Can you knock it out of the park? YES! (I just had a woman lose 10 lbs in one week and then 14 the next week!) But please keep your goal reasonable, I don’t want you beating yourself up for only losing 3 lbs in a week.

  21. So did anyone ACTUALLY lose more than five pounds a week by drinking this? Because its getting close to summer and I need to lose some weight and I don’t want to waste my time doing something that doesn’t work, so anyone?

  22. Hi Audrey,
I’ve searched for something tasty but healthy to drink for so long. I ended up getting hooked on Propel Zero, but they give such awful heartburn! I work at the local farmer’s market and ended up coming home with a HUGE chunk of ginger root (only cost me a dollar!!) but i had no idea what to do with it. I ran across your site and now i’m inspired!! I’ve even convinced my younger sister to take your weight loss challenge with me. Hopefully I can reach my goal weight of 185 by my birthday in November! (preferably mostly muscle weight) Here’s to starting at almost 300…Thanks for the inspiration and amazing recipes!!!

      DIRECTIONS:

-To peel the ginger use the back of a spoon or a vegetable peeler, just peel the part that you will be using. Using a sharp knife slice ginger into 3-4 coin sized slices. You want them about the size and thickness of the coin.
