I grew up around donuts thanks to my family’s donuts shop Foster’s Donuts in Simi Valley Ca. I remember having birthday parties behind the counter and the smell of warm donuts, perhaps it wired me with a sweet tooth but the thought of giving up my round doughy little friends was torture. Something had to be done about it and these were the answer.
For the bigger donuts that don’t have a “hole” in them all the way through fill with your favorite jam and go to foodie heaven!
There have been some changes, I do the video all in one shot so please check the ingredient list below for correct measurements.
Makes 48-
Donuts-
1 cup Organic Flour
½ cup Organic Sugar
1 tsp Baking Powder
½ tsp Cinnamon
1/3 cup Almond Milk
1 Large Egg at room temp
1 tbsp Melted Unsalted Butter
½ cup Unsweetened Apple Sauce
1 tbsp Maple Syrup
Glaze-
3 cups Powdered Sugar
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
½ cup cold Almond Milk
Heat Oven to 425 and spray donut tins with baking spray
In a bowl combine all dry ingredients, then make a well and add the wet ingredients and combine. Add to the tins a little over ½ way through and bake fro 4-6 minutes until they bounce back when you push on them.
Remove from oven and let cool in the tins then move to a wire rack until you are ready to glaze. TO make the glaze just add all ingredients and whisk.
HAPPY COOKING!
