Hey Audrey..Just wanted to tell you thank you so much for sharing your experience. I drink my cinnamon apple water every day and get 14-16 cups in daily. So far I am down 22 pounds and feel better than I have in a long time. I hurt myself very early in my weight loss journey (started Jan 17th and sprained my ankle Feb 4th and found out I have arthritis in my knee soon after) so I am only allowed to really walk to ride my bike. I am thankful for your site b/c it helped me stay on track and keep focused. Just b/c I can’t do a lunge or hard work doesn’t mean I can’t lose weight! ♥ So I stay focused and kept on going!

Hayley Thomas, Paso Press Newspaper Sept 27, 2012

You will be happy to know I have been cooking from home three meals a day ever since we did the interview and I have saved a ton of money in the process. I also feel more fit.  Last night, my boyfriend and I went out on a double date for the first time in a while. Our counterparts ate two HUGE cheeseburgers and downed several beers each. My boyfriend and I had just eaten a healthy, wholesome meal at home and I had absolutely no food envy. I felt content, healthy and maybe even a bit snobbish. I knew that they would not be feeling good the next morning, but I would feel energized and healthy.

Dine W. Sept 28, 2012

I’ve tried this (Apple Cinnamon Water) for over a month and its soooo good. I get compliments that I’m looking great, I feel great too, and I have the energy as well to juggle both my sons who are 2 and a half years old and 2 and a half months old.. :D I love it that its my new drink… a lot better on the following morning!

I have gone from drinking 1 glass of water a day to drinking a gallon a day and I haven’t peed myself yet! (small victories, lol.) I threw away all the junk and processed food in my house. I am having no problem staying at or just under my cal. limit with your recipes and I don’t feel deprived of anything! You are a genius! This approach to nutrition is so rational and seems very do-able, I love it! I started with the chocolate syrup last night and it is perfect in my coffee this morning.  I’m thinking your pizza crust is next and I can’t wait. You have given me just the inspiration I needed to make some common sense, healthy changes for myself and my family~~Thank you!!

  1. I have always struggled with my weight and now at my highest weight ever I am having more Health/Digestion problems than ever before. I hope that the weight lost and eating better will eliminate or at least slow down the health issues that seem to be controling my life.

    • Hi Lisa!

Thanks for stopping by!! I am not a doctor or dietitian so I can only speak from personal experience. I use to have digestion problems but now I eat so many veggies I don’t have that problem anymore. Plus for me eating all natural vs. processed boxed foods made the weight fall right off me!

Check out the post below, I think you might find it interesting and it might help you start your weight loss journey. Let me know if you have any questions or recipe requests.

    • Hi Lisa,

Just want to follow up and see how you are doing on your weight loss journey.

I can’t wait to add you to my Weight Loss Superstars!

  2. Hi Audrey! My wife came across your spa water recipes on pintrest and introduced me to your blog. I have really been enjoying your page and your total approach to weight loss. Like you I have tried nearly every diet plan out there and failed on each one. My dad passed away on June 6th at the age of 60. He had congestive heart failure, kidney failure, diabetes and whole list of other medical issues. His death is my final wake up call. I started 2 weeks ago eating more natural foods/fresh veggies etc and an exercise routine of about 1 hour a day of exercise. I have lost 21 pounds so far and feel 10x better! Right before I started my journey I got established with a new primary care doctor and found out that my glucose levels are in the diabetic range (surprise surpise). My doctor told me to go home and work on my weight loss and changing my diet for 3 months to see what I can do to manage my own health. I have started my own blog : 90days2live.blogspot.com

I appreciate your attitude, your creativeness, and approach to weight loss! Thanks for the encouragement!

    • Hi Zack!

Thank you so much for stopping by and for commenting! What an amazing story you have, I’m so sorry about your Father! I lost my Mom when she was only 53 to cancer, I have a picture of her in my kitchen so she can watch me while I cook and while I make the cooking videos.

I am going to check out your blog right away, I am so moved by your story, you have made my day! I needed your message today!

If you ever have questions or recipe requests (I love to take naughty meals and make the skinny) let me know, and if you ever want to re-blog or share a recipe use my blog as your own personal recipe box.

  3. Hi… I just found your blog. I am 31 and live MN I am a mom too 3 sons 5,3,1 and I have a junk food lover for a husband. He weights 117lbs and here I am at 227. I dont know when to stop eating. I work overnight and I am home during the day with my boys or I am in school full time. Sometime I go 24 hours with no sleep so I dont when I should stop counting for the day and when I should begin. Do you have any tips to get enegry? sorry for the spelling. I just brought a kettle ball and tips on how to use it.

    • Hi Heidi,

Thanks so much for stopping by and shooting me a message. I would count calories from 12AM-12AM just make it a 24 hour period to make it easy. If 10am-10am is easier do that.

My husband loves junk food too, he is not as thin as your husband but he will come home with crap food and I am embarrassed to have it in my house. At a certain point I just had to realize I was on this journey all by myself and it empowered me! Just look at the junk food as food that is not for you.

As for energy eating all natural food will boost your energy, your body will naturally give you more when you feed it what it needs. Drink LOTS of water and try to catch a cat nap here or there when you can. Fresh and dried fruits will boost energy as well as almonds. If you have a Trader Joe’s by you or a health food store go get some unsalted unflavored almonds, pick out 3 unsweetened dried fruits and get a bag of dark chocolate chips. Go home and dump 1/2 of the chocolate chips and all of the almonds and dried fruit into a BIG Ziploc bag. Now before you go to work, school anywhere grab a handful (about 1/4 cup) and put it in a sandwich bag or a container of your choice and keep it with you to nibble anytime. Just don’t eat more than a half cup a day, that would be overdoing it.

I have an injury where I can’t use my right arm, so I am not well versed in Kettle bell workouts. Here is what I found on line:

Hope I answered all your questions :)

  4. I REALLY enjoy your site. I am a stay-at-home mom and have been struggling with my weight. How do I participate in your weekly weight loss competitions? Thank you so much for the motivation! :)

  5. Audrey, thank you so much for creating your blog. I have been really down on myself about my weight (265) and although I am basically a happy person, I too am tired of being the fattest person in the room. I too have some limitations (really bad knees and ankle…I am a disabled veteran…and asthma) but try to get in some form of movement as much as possible. Needless to say, it is not like I am running marathons. I dont believe in weight loss surgery, at least not for me, because they seem a bad way to lose some weight. Just like the prepackaged food diets, if you arent careful after losing the weight you will regain it because you never learned to eat right to begin with. Long story short, I came across your site, purely by accident, but you have me so excited at the thought of maybe being able to lose some weight and still enjoy food (I do love food). I have made out my shopping list for tomorrow and have decided what do I have to lose, but some weight…because either way your recipes look delicious so its a win win. Thank you for being an inspiration. You are a real person who has done it, and done it the right way…the way I want to do it.

    • Hi Dianna,

I am SO TOUCHED by your comment! I would LOVE to assist you in your weight loss journey! I don’t offer this to everyone but I want to help you out. I too am disabled and you CAN lose weight without working out! All I ask for in return is that you tell your friends about my blog, I want to reach as many people as I can to teach them how to lose weight the healthy way, by EATING! :)

Come on over to my facebook page and send me a private message, I want to help you and give you all the tools to triumph. I have a weekly weight loss competition and one woman lost 12 lbs this week! SERIOUSLY! It can be done and you get to eat while you lose weight!!!

  6. Hi Audrey,

Thank you for your inspiring and sensible blog. Finally something that makes sense! I too have been struggling with my weight. I’ve lost 70 lbs before…. my highest was 232. When I got back up to 205 I said not again…I’ve wanted to be fit my whole life, Every wish on a birthday candle, every dandelion or shooting star I always wished to be skinny, (now it’s fit)

My struggle is that I eat healthy (I think), I journal and workout and the scale is not budging. For 2 months I used an app to log all my food and exercise (except for the occasional too much wine) then when I felt at my wits end I joined back to Weight Watchers and over the past month have lost 4 lbs. I work out A LOT! I walk my dogs 30-40 min everyday and 5 days a week I do Jillian, Tae Bo or Turbo Jam…so what’s the deal??

After finding your blog I felt a connection when I read that you too thought you ate healthy and were guzzling down diet soda (I swear I’m addicted) I know chemicals and preserv’s are BAD and I don’t eat them often if ever but I am inspired to get even cleaner in my eating with your awesome recipes. I also love that you add nutrition info, thank you!! After find you on Pintrest, I joined your FB and bought the Pretty Delicious cookbook, no joke it is wonderful! I’ve bookmarked nearly every recipe in there and am making 2 of them today, thanks for the suggestion.

What if any advice do you have for this dedicated to getting fit, love to cook, frustrated devoted fan?

Happy Cooking to you too and thank you for your blog!!

    Amy :)

  7. i just happened to com across your blog by accident and your story has inspired me. Today i am at my heaviest of 250 lbs, i was diagnosed with Liver Disease in July of this year, the doctor told me if i didnt lose the weight i would die, So i started on the Advocare Program with a friend she has lost 30 lbs so far but me nothng, All the pills do is bloat me more due to the liver not working properly. Your blog has given me some great ideas and receipes, so i just might be able to do this.

  8. Hello Audrey, Thank you, thank you for having this blog! My husband and I have been on multitude of diet plans and were so frustrated. Ever since we got married( 22 years ago) we have tried to get health. We have lost weight only to plateau and then gain it all back plus more. I found you on Pinterest. I called my husband at work all excited about the ginger and mango water. I have been afraid to cook food and not take all these pills and eat the protein bars they make you buy. I feel like I can follow your recipes. I am looking forward to your book coming out. My dream is to lose 35 lbs before my daughter graduates from high school in May. Thank you again for figuring this all out and helping others have hope in eating healthy. Rebecca Nunn

  9. I was really encouraged with your blog and I follow you on FB. I have a less than optimum living conditions, hubby works 650 miles up North and comes home every other week. We didn’t think it would be for this long, but it’s been 2yr 8mo. I started getting depressed and eating, eating, eating. I was once 315, then got down to 245, then hubby went up North and I got up to 285. We had 2 weeks off together during the Christmas holidays and the last day after he left I started to have another gall bladder attack. I really just thought I was going to die. I found a Sugar Detox group on FB (short lived-but was really educational) and I stopped cold turkey with any sugar, sugar substitute, wheat, bread, rice, pasta…did pretty much a HFLC lifestyle change. In January I lost 23 lbs. I have been drinking fresh ginger/ lemon water (24oz) every morning and I just don’t get hungry any more! the last two days I had sabotage mode kick in. I woke up this morning and decided I was NOT going to give in. Back on track and wanted to look at your site. I’ve had surgeries on both shoulders, hips bad, one knee bad. I have a glider and have started using it again. I’m afraid to weigh, but will do so in the morning. I know I need to up my water intake. I do about 64oz now, but need to do more. I’m afraid of carbs though, I don’t think I could do pita, or even wheat tortilla. have heard of coconut bread from Julian Bakery and might try that, but I’m just afraid to start back on carbs! Thanks for your site!

    • Hi Debi,

I have to say, carbs are NOT the enemy and neither is sugar. It’s the preservatives, chemicals and artificial sweeteners that are.

Sure you might drop weight on a drastic plan like that, but is it REALLY reasonable to think you will eat like this for the rest of your life?

Go for whole wheat so you get all the nutrients and of course moderation is key, but enjoying life is too!

  10. Dear audrey,

I am 19 years old and i have been on diet after diet for as long as i can remember. Each and every time i have given up on myself. i dont know if its lack of support or my own motivation. The last time i weighed myself i was 409 lbs that was almost a year ago. I do fear my health sometimes, thinking i might as well give up. My new years resolution for this year and every year has been to change my ways. I am majoring in human services and i want to show others that if i can do it then they can change to. I have plans racing around in my head but no motivation. I’ve spent tons of time on pintrest and i stumbled across your page here and it gives me hope that i can change. as a school project i have implemented drinking more water as i started out drinking maybe a glass or less a day. im hoping by the end of this month to be drinking up to that gallon mark. this is difficult for me because ive always been told to loose weight i have to work out and have extreme physical activity. i dont have the support system to keep me going but i am excited to try what you have here.. needless to say as a college student with a small budget it might be difficult but i have implemented many healthier foods that i never used to eat. i am hoping when i commit myself to it i can see results and keep myself motivated. Thank you for sharing what you have.

    • Hi Katie,

Thank you so much for sharing your story with us! I truly hope I can help you lose the weight and get the body you always have wanted.

I love that you are taking baby steps, it will help you commit these new healthy goals to habit and ward off plateaus. Not sure if you have seen this yet, here is my GET STARTED PAGE:

Visit my Facebook page, we have a forum and there are thousands of amazing women sharing what has worked for them, recipes and conversations like “how to stay motivated” plus lots of Q&A. There is also a weekly weight loss competition going on every weekend.

The BEST tip I can give you is this:
Everyone messes up and blows their diet, the people who are successful in weight loss are the people who get over their mistakes immediately! They hit their virtual “reset button” and move on, they don’t dwell on their mistake or “wait to start again on Monday.” You will mess up, I mess up!! It’s what you do AFTER you eat the chocolate cake, that matters not if you ate it or not.

  11. I found your website last night and I love all the recipes, I have a spa water in the fridge chilling right now (Strawberry/Orange) I am so excited to try it tomorrow. You are such an inspiration. I am currently at 135 and ideally want to be 120 but realistically it will be more like 125 (I don’t think I could actually get down to 120). It doesn’t seem like a lot to loose but I haven’t seen that number pre highschool. well here I am 9 years out of high school, 6 years of marriage, and 3 kids later, I feel like I won’t drop those last 10/15 and I want to tone up. I guess I am saying you are my breath of fresh air to get me back on the path to a healthier life. Thank you!

  12. I officially weighed myself this morning and realized I have been avoiding the scale for months now. Knowing iv put on weight but just didn’t want to go through another diet. So I did I weighed myself! A whopping 218lbs! I about died so I figured I’d get on Pinterest an look up the Atkins diet because it worked for me in the past. Lo and behold I came across your pin about the metabolism boosting water and just kept reading till I was obsessed! Finally I plan I can follow that I’d truly and completly be happy doing! So I started off today with the gallon of water till I could get to the store for proper ingredients. I have so much energy with this apple cinnamon water! I honestly didn’t think it would work this well! I’m so excited to incorporate your whole plan! Maybe I could get you to look over my meal plan and tell me what you think? I’m very excited! And I’m so glad I accidentally came across your pin! Me and my friend are both excited and we are going to do this thing together! Thank you so much!!!
